Physiotherapists are primary health care providers.
Physiotherapists use various assessment techniques to obtain a working diagnosis and can educate on various health conditions. I will use a combination of exercise and manual therapy techniques to improve joint mobility, muscle flexibility, restore proper movement patterns and strengthen affected areas.

Most people only consider physiotherapy when they are injured, but we can also help with activity modification, improving technique, performance optimization, recovery, and injury prevention.

Monica is a licensed Physiotherapist who works out of Brightwood Golf & Country Club and Maritime Chiropractic & Wellness. She also works part-time as a lab instructor at Dalhousie University and is the President of the Nova Scotia Physiotherapy Association.

She is originally from Fredericton, New Brunswick but has lived in Halifax for over 10 years. She graduated with a BSc in Kinesiology with honours from the University of New Brunswick, where she competed for the University’s Swim Team. Monica moved to Halifax to further pursue her education at Dalhousie University. There, she obtained a MSc in Physiotherapy and a MSc in Rehabilitation Research, being the first to complete the dual program within the School of Physiotherapy.

Growing up Monica played a variety of sports but focused most of her energy on swimming, attending many national competitions including two Canada Summer Games. Now she fuels her passion for athletics out on the golf course!

Monica’s physiotherapy interests lie in orthopaedics and she has a special interest in treating golfers. She has her Titliest Performance Institute Level 1 and Level 2 Medical Certification.
